Why we are obsessed with herbal tea

There really is nothing better than sitting down to a cup of tea. Its more than just the taste, it’s the process; it signifies that you have created time in your day just for you. When we do tea, we like to make sure we are doing it right. With so many combinations of herbal teas available it means there are endless flavours and benefits all in arms reach. So we have taken the guesswork out for you and created 5 blends we think you will love.

Balance Tea
This yummy blend isn’t super sweet, but doesn’t fall into the bitter category either, making it the perfect everyday drink. It is made with Hibsicus for liver protection, Rosehip and Calendula which are super high in vitamin C and antioxidants, and Lemon Myrtle which boosts immune system and aids digestion. Lavender has been added for the soothing aroma which calms and relaxes, and Orange for a beautiful citrus twist on the tastebuds. Last but not least, Rose not only tastes fruity but recent studies suggest that is can help alleviate symptoms of PMS and menstrual pain.

Cleanse Tea
We have handcrafted this tea to perfection! This concoction of Mango, Peppermint, Spearmint and Lavender is high in Vitamins A, B & C for glowing skin and helps supply energy to the body to keep you going throughout the day. Perhaps the greatest benefit of this tea comes from the Peppermint and Spearmint; we all know that mint teas taste delicious but it’s what they do on the inside that is really impressive. Mint teas are considered a carminative, meaning that it helps to move gas through the body as it accumulates, rather than causing bloating, cramping, and stomach discomfort. This tea also stimulates bile flow to increase the rate and efficiency of digestion. Perfect for an upset tummy, or as a daily drink to keep your insides happy.

Restore Tea
Do you love sweet teas? Then this is the one for you. Banana and strawberry are the hero flavours in each sip, both providing a sweet kick and a boost of energy. This is a great tea for the afternoon, specifically at your 3pm ‘slump’ or in the evening just after eating, as the Lemon Myrtle helps to aid in digestion. It’s also delicious served cold over ice. Hibiscus and Rose add depth of flavor and keep your tummy and liver working at optimum efficacy.

Well Tea
We have created this tea with all the benefits of hibiscus, strawberry, mango, calendula and banana which we have mentioned above but have added some key ingredients to promote wellness for the body as a whole. Lemongrass is an all-rounder, helping digestion, controlling cholesterol, detoxing, immune boosting and helping with pain from osteoarthritis. Chamomile promotes a deep relaxation, and is great in the evening before bed to encourage a deep sleep and sense of wellbeing.

Mummy Tea
There are so many rules and restrictions while you are pregnant, that it can be difficult to navigate. We recommend doing your own research and talking to your doctor about anything you put into, or onto your body while you are pregnant. Our Mummy Tea is recommended from the second trimester onwards.
Peppermint Leaf, Raspberry Leaf and Fennel make up this easy-drinking tea which is also enjoyable served warm or cold. Peppermint Leaf and Fennel ease nausea from morning sickness as well as protect the digestive system from parasites and bad bacteria. Fennel has been used for many years by midwives to strengthen the reproductive system and also encourage milk supply. Studies have shown that Raspberry leaf aids the mother’s immune system, eases morning sickness and promotes better circulation. Taking raspberry leaf is believed to help strengthen uterine muscles and tone the pelvic floor in preparation for childbirth, as well as assist with breastmilk supply.
